The 4-yard, box pleated kilt

The original tailored kilts of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century were all box pleated, and contained, on average, four yards of cloth half that of today's modern knife pleated kilts.  Most kilt makers today, however, offer only knife pleated kilts.  Our very own curator, Matthew Newsome, is now creating traditional four-yard box pleated kilts, and we are glad to offer this service to you.  Please click on the banner below for more information.
