Well, the badge in the center is the thistle, national flower of Scotland.
The tartan in the background if hard to make out. The way it is bunched
up makes it impossible to tell an exact pattern in the picture. But
it does look a lot like the MacDonald of the Isles tartan, with a dark green
and light green motif broken up by white lines. This same tartan is sometimes
seen with a black and green, or a blue and green motif. It is a fairly old
tartan, dating back at least to 1893. If you could describe the tartan in
more detail I may be able to verify this.
